Ningde Geopark listed in UNESCO's Global Geopark Network

The undated photo shows the Baishuiyang scenic area within the Ningde Geopark in southeast China's Fujian Province. The UNESCO held a meeting on world geoparks at the Greek island of Lesvos Oct. 3, 2010, in which Ningde Geopark was list in UNESCO's Global Geopark Network (GGN). The Ningde Geopark, covering an area of 2639.443 square kilometers, is an integration of various landforms such as granite landform, volcanic landform, erosion riverbed landform, and erosion coastal landform.

The Festival, with the theme of “World City, Beautiful Beijing”, would last three days. About 2,000 performers from 21 countries and regions participated in the opening ceremony show and the attire parade. As the highlight of the Festival, the attire parade show was divided into seven performance squares, namely, Splendid Beijing, Beijing Flavor, Shining Beijing, Stylish Beijing, Musical Beijing, Dancing Beijing, and Beijing Welcomes You. The international squares fully displayed the internationalized characteristics of the Festival. The audience enjoyed an audio-visual feast provided by a number of international groups of performing arts, including Irish folk dancing troupe of Germany, performing troupe of dancing association from Provence, France, the Meyrin-Geneva Municipal Brass Band, the most popular one among Swiss, Bagpipes Dancing Troupe of Cleveland, Canada, Australian Performing Troupe, and French Hip-hop.
