China International Travel Mart 2010 Opened in Shanghai 2010-11-19 CNTA
On November 17, China International Travel Mart (CITM) 2010, co-hosted by the National Tourism Administration of the PRC, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Civil Aviation Administration of China, opened in Shanghai. It is the first grand event of international tourism held in Shanghai after the closing of World Expo, which can lay a foundation for integrating China’s tourism industry with the world in the post-World Expo era.
Shao Qiwei, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Shao Qiwei, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration, and Zhao Wen, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipality, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The Chinese government leaders who attended the opening ceremony were Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration, Liu Jinping, member of the Administration’s Party Group and leader of Discipline Inspection Group, and Hu Yaming, Deputy Director of Eastern China Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The overseas guests who attended the opening ceremony included Misa Retzlaff, Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism Ministry of Samoa, and officials, enterprises and buyer representatives from 95 countries, regions and international organizations. In addition, municipal tourism bureaus of all provinces throughout China, representatives of large tourism enterprises and the relevant persons in charge from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were also present at the opening ceremony.
Zhao Wen, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipality, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
It is reported that this Mart covers an exhibition area of 57,500 square meters with 2,243 booths in total, and 95 participating countries, regions and organizations. On the basis of past regular events, some creative efforts have been made in this Mart by adding many new content and new programs, such as 2010 "Tour of China" and Appointment Meeting between Chinese and Foreign Traveling Businessmen. During the Mart period, there will be 27 press releases and product presentations, three lectures given by the U.S. experts, summarizing and commenting conferences and other activities. This CITM will close on November 21, from November 18 to 19 are scheduled for professional discussions, and from November 20 to 21 will be days for public visits.
